On June 1st, Shane van Gisbergen took the NASCAR Xfinity Series by storm, securing his first win at the Portland International Raceway. Van Gisbergen, piloting the Quad Lock Camaro, drove to victory lane, earning a coveted spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs.
"Awesome day, really stoked to get a win for @quadlock! The track was cool, really enjoyed it and the fans. Race was awesome, it was up and down like a yoyo.” van Gisbergen said.
The 75-lap competition took place on the challenging 12-turn, 1.97-mile course, testing the skill and endurance of all drivers. Van Gisbergen’s victory marks a significant milestone in his career, adding to his impressive record of three Supercars Championship titles and 81 career victories.
Looking ahead, van Gisbergen is set to join the NASCAR Cup Series at Sonoma next weekend, where he will serve as a secondary spotter for Will Brown.
“Another road course next week! Should be a fun couple weeks, pressure is off now we’re locked into the playoffs."
Van Gisbergen’s next Cup Series will be in July at the Chicago Street Course.
