Quad Lock Adventures: A Year of Extraordinary Journeys in 2024

At Quad Lock, adventure is at the heart of everything we do. This year, we’ve had the incredible privilege of supporting some inspiring journeys and collaborating with adventurers who embody the spirit of exploration. As we wrap up 2024, we’re excited to share a glimpse into the adventures we’ve been part of and the remarkable people we’ve partnered with along the way.

Lael Wilcox
A World Record-Breaking Ride Around the World

In 2024, Lael Wilcox set out on an extraordinary quest to break the Guinness World Record for circumnavigating the globe by bike. Renowned for her resilience, optimism, and passion for long-distance cycling, Lael faced grueling terrains, unpredictable weather, and countless challenges as she aimed to make history.

After an inspiring journey, Lael crossed the finish line in Chicago, Illinois, completing approximately 18,130 miles in just 108 days, 12 hours, and 12 minutes. Her achievement set a new women’s Guinness World Record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe by bicycle. Lael's bike, a Specialized Roubaix, was equipped with a custom setup designed to handle the demands of her monumental ride. Shawn Small of Ruckus Composites played a pivotal role in crafting specialized mounts for her Quad Lock system, dynamo light, and Wahoo Roam. Additionally, Quad Lock provided Lael with a custom Quad Lock 360 Mount, featuring a 4-hole base and Lever Head option, delivering unmatched security and adaptability.

This robust mounting solution ensured that her phone remained securely attached to her bike, allowing seamless navigation and constant connectivity no matter the conditions. We’re proud to have been part of her journey, ensuring she stayed connected and focused on her goal every step of the way.

Lael Wilcox's incredible journey is more than a test of physical endurance, it's a tribute to the spirit of adventure.

Follow her as she strives to set a new world record and inspire cyclists worldwide. Stay updated on her progress through Instagram and her podcast at laelwilcox.net/podcast

Gideon Perez @TheMotoCreative
Gideon’s Moto Adventure to Mongolia

Few places on Earth match the rugged beauty of Mongolia. Gideon’s two-wheeled journey through this remote terrain, documented by TheMotoCreative, is an unforgettable tale of grit and discovery. Stay tuned for exclusive behind-the-scenes content and stories from this incredible trip.

"Mongolia was an absolute dream — endless plains, rugged trails, and terrain that felt built for adventure bikes. Every day revealed something new, from wide-open grasslands to challenging mountain passes, and daunting sand dunes that most of us have only ever seen in photos and videos. But what made it truly unforgettable were the people — kind, welcoming, and deeply connected to their rich cultural heritage. This place isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience, and I’m convinced Mongolia is about to become THE next big bucket list spot for adventure riders looking to push their limits and explore something truly unique."

Max Duff @Akinmoto and @Gorm_moto
Motorcycle Off-Road Adventures

When it comes to tackling tough terrains, our collaboration with Akinmoto and Gorm_Moto stands out. From dusty trails to adrenaline-pumping challenges, this partnership produced jaw-dropping content that highlights the durability and versatility of Quad Lock motorcycle mounts.

“After the success of our first content expedition to Sardinia in 2022, I knew we had to raise the bar. Our next destination? The rugged beauty of Tasmania, often referred to as ‘Van Diemen’s Land.’ With a dream team of creatives — Gorm Taube, Tyson Lloyd, and Cam Pianta — we set out with two key objectives: to showcase Tasmania’s unmatched landscapes as the ultimate motorcycle destination and to inspire riders everywhere to get out there and explore on two wheels.

Over the course of two weeks, our team traversed some of the most awe-inspiring terrains in the world. From dramatic coastal vistas to rugged mountain ranges and ancient rainforests, Tasmania offered a stunning backdrop at every turn. Between the island’s remote corners and charming small towns, we encountered an endless variety of landscapes that were a joy to ride, and even better to capture on camera.

Each day began with an early start, chasing the perfect sunrise while dodging the local wildlife, and stretched into a full day of capturing content along some of the best roads on the planet. As the day wound down, we’d finish with a golden-hour sunset shoot before retreating to our base camp. There, we'd back up the day’s footage, enjoy a few cold beers, share stories over dinner, and get some rest — all in preparation for the next day's adventure. It was a routine that some might consider grueling, but for our tight-knit team, it was heaven.

While riding motorcycles is always at the heart of what we do, the real joy comes from discovering new places and sharing those experiences with friends. That’s the spirit we hope to inspire in other riders — the desire to pick up the phone, call a few mates, and plan a trip. It’s something we often talk about, but it rarely happens.

For me, the true reward lies in knowing that we’ve sparked that sense of adventure in others. Even if Akin Moto never sells another jacket, if we’ve inspired someone to gather their friends and hit the road, then our mission has been a success.”

Kinga Tanajewska @onherbike
Solo Journeys Around the World

Few riders embody the spirit of freedom and adventure like Kinga Tanajewska, the solo rider behind On Her Bike. With Quad Lock as her trusted companion, Kinga has spent 2024 navigating some of the world’s most stunning and challenging landscapes, continuing to inspire wanderlust and exploration in her growing community.

Her year began on a determined note as she set off on a solo adventure across New Zealand, riding a BMW F 850 GS affectionately named Marmite. Over six weeks, Kinga explored New Zealand’s diverse terrain, taking ferries between islands and embracing the nomadic lifestyle, camping under the stars, and even sleeping in sheds and on picnic tables. One of the highlights was her journey along the breathtaking Rainbow Road, a remote route winding through stunning valleys, rugged mountains, and crystal-clear streams.

By May, Kinga reunited with Chillie, her trusty BMW F 800 GS, to continue her epic round-the-world journey. This leg of her adventure took her through Nevada and California, exploring iconic American landscapes, before crossing into Mexico to close out her USA chapter after over a year of exploration.

In Mexico, Kinga tackled El Espinazo del Diablo (The Devil’s Backbone), a legendary road perched at an altitude of 2,440 metres (8,005 feet). Famous for its dramatic views and relentless curves, this route is as exhilarating as it is challenging, making it a rite of passage for adventurous motorcyclists.

In addition to her adventures across New Zealand, the USA, and Mexico, Kinga found time to travel closer to home, with trips back and forth between Poland and the UK.
