Quad Lock and Thule Group Announce Exciting New Partnership

We're thrilled to share that Quad Lock is set to join forces with Thule Group, a renowned name in high-quality products for active lifestyles. Thule Group’s acquisition of Quad Lock marks a new chapter for both brands, bringing together a shared dedication to innovative, durable, and adventure-ready solutions.

Quad Lock was founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 2011 by Rob Ward and Chris Peters, who first designed a secure and versatile phone mount for mountain bikes. Over the years, our products have expanded to meet the needs of cyclists, motorcyclists, and off-road enthusiasts worldwide, and we've become a trusted choice for active people in over 100 countries.

From the start, we've been focused on delivering quality and connecting directly with our customers," says Rob Ward, Quad Lock’s co-founder. "It's been an awesome ride, and we’re grateful to the millions of enthusiasts who’ve made it possible.

Since 2020, we've partnered with Quadrant Private Equity, which helped accelerate our growth in four years. The commitment of our 100-strong team and continued product innovation have driven this success, and we’re excited about the additional opportunities that partnering with Thule Group will bring.

As Thule Group’s President and CEO, Mattias Ankarberg, shares, “Quad Lock is a global market leader in its niche and, like Thule, has a passion for creating the best products for active adventurers, with a strong focus on quality and innovation. Welcoming Quad Lock’s talented employees to the Thule family further strengthens us in several areas and is a valuable step towards our financial targets for 2030.

The partnership will combine Thule’s global expertise and reach with Quad Lock’s leading products in bike and motorcycle mounts, expanding Thule’s offerings and strengthening its presence globally, particularly in the APAC market. Together, we’re looking forward to delivering even more high-quality, adventure-ready products for our customers.

We are delighted to become part of the Thule Group,” says Andrew Poole, CEO of Quad Lock. “It’s striking how similar our brands and cultures are. Like Thule, we focus on high quality products that can withstand harsh conditions and are appreciated by customers who love adventure. This market is growing rapidly and we have many growth opportunities that we now look forward to tackling together.

From our first visit to Sweden, it was clear that Thule's values, culture, and story align very closely with ours. I am excited to join forces with a like-minded company that has a strong heritage of product innovation and quality.” Chris Peters said, “While Quad Lock has grown and evolved over the years, our commitment to creating innovative, high-quality products designed and engineered to withstand the test of time remains unwavering. We look forward to continuing our mission with the additional support, experience, and global reach that the Thule Group brings.

Pending regulatory approvals, we expect the partnership to be finalised in late 2024. We’re excited about the future and can’t wait to embark on this next adventure together.
